American Girl Part 1

Good evening!

Feels good to get back to blogging! After my appt. this morning the girls and I spent the day cleaning the house, and organizing just Kathleen's clothes which took 5 hours! Ugh. Pretty tired right now. :-)
I am starting with my first segment of our trip to New York to see American Girl Store. I took so many pictures. We were up at 5:30 AM Sat. morning. Here's a picture of me and the girls first thing before we left.

Then Jerry and Kathleen dropped Hayley and I off at the bus and off we went to New York City!
Jerry took Kathleen to the fair so in the next few days I'll be sharing that too!

Us country folk were quite excited to see several New York City taxi's, however crossing the streets of New York are definitely at your own risk! They start honking at you from a 1/2 mile away!

The New York Times

So crazy busy there.

We made it! The bus dropped us off several blocks away so we had to walk there, That was an experience...

Lanie is 2010 doll of the year. She's the one Hayley took along with her, she was so excited! She had all planned out what she wanted to get, then when she walked in and saw 4 levels she was in awe!

Hayley is a lot like Lanie, she loves nature and all animals. She has a very big heart.

This is the case of dolls that has been retired. Hayley also has Chrissa from 2009.

She was super excited picking out Pepper, one of the pets she wanted.

Every girl (and lady) has to have the perfect shoes with the perfect outfit! LOL

She designed a special t-shirt for Lanie.

And let's not forget the perfect hair accessories and style!

We took a step back in time and visited Kit's era. (She's one of my favorites :-)  )

Josephina, another of Hayley's favorites.

O.k. no laughing, really stop laughing! Yes I even took pictures in the bathroom, LOL They have a doll holder in there too!

And of course another doll holder by the sinks so you can wash and dry your hands!

Tomorrow we will be visiting the cafe! Stay tuned. :-)
Have a great night!

Love it! We have a store near us, but I have yet to take Aiyana. I am waiting until she is just a little older so she can fully appreciate it because my goodness I hear it is expensive - but worth it!

Thanks for sharing the pictures.

The pic of you and the girls is amazing. You should frame it. LOL - Well why not have a doll holder in the restrooms for dolls. They have baby changing stations in most restrooms for babies. Most girls like to take their doll where they go. Of course they learned it by wathing Mom take all the kids and baby every where she goes. Thats what Moms do. So glad you two had a special trip together with lots of fun memories. The magazine I posted about you can find the info for the magazine at they have a button in the left side bar.

Jill: Great pictures of NY. I like how you got pictures of the hustle and bustle of the city - it will make for a great scrapbook page. Looks like you guys had a blast - Did Hayley want to leave? Does Kathleen want to go now?

Looks like a lot of fun!

Kat has been SO into playing with her AG doll this week -- a lot more than usual for some reason.

Oh my goodness!! I bet she had such a wonderful time there. We have never been there. We saw it when Kate (Jon and Kate) took the girls there. My girls were very impressed with it. Great fun!!

Hi Jill thanks for sharing your trip to NY with your sweet daughter. So cute! I pop open the NY city photo large it does look so busy there. I think it would freak me out. I used to live in Rome NY but that city looks crazy. How exciting of a trip for you to take your daughter on. I'm sure it's going to be a wonderful memory for her. I see you have been busy this past weekend, it's hard blogging everyday but I do love it when I have the time. Have a great day with your two sweets. big hugs

Jill that photo of you and your daughters is beautiful. You are so pretty and your nails are such a pretty color. I see now where Kathleen gets her red hair. Your hair is similar to the color of my moms when I was growing up but i think my moms hair was a bit lighter. I have a niece that has Kathleen's red hair color. I should show my nieces off soon. They are so cute, but older. Have a great day!

Oh, it looks like y'all had a fabulous day!! NYC is my dream trip. I have never been there in my life, and I want SO MUCH to go there. My daughter and I have it all planned out....a fancy hotel, fancy restaurants, lots of shopping, and a couple Broadway shows. Better win the lottery, huh?

Anyhow, you and Hayley look beautiful, and I can only imagine how excited she was to be amidst all the AG stuff. When my daughter was 8, we got her Samantha. (Not sure if that doll is still around, or if it's been retired.) Anyhow, even at 20, she still displays her dolls (also the Bitty Baby, which she named Hannah) in her room. She changes their clothes seasonally. She enjoyed several years of wonderful play with her dolls, and as she outgrew them, she couldn't bear to pack them away, so she simply uses them as decor in her bedroom. So, tell Hayley, she never has to put her dolls away for good!!

Oh, I agree with you on having shoes for every outfit. That's why I love my switch flops so much!!

Thanks for sharing your photos. Right now, your trip is as close to NYC as I can get.

The doll holder is too funny! When we visited AG in NYC we didn't have a lot of time, so I guess we never hit the bathrooms. (P.S. I secretly covet Kit as well)

Can't believe it...doll holders in the bathroom! I really didn't know how big the American Girls are. My daughter has read a lot of the books and we've watched a couple of movies, but I had no idea!
