A homemade educational game, I won a giveaway, and planting trees! :-)

I was so happy to be a winner of this particular giveaway at Michelle's blog, Flying giggles and Lollipops!
http://www.flyinggigglesandlollipops.com It's an I.D. bracelet, but has the room to add allergy and other info inside. With Kathleen's egg allergy this was perfect for her age. Not to mention if she were to get separated from us, all her information is right on her wrist. Thank Michelle and Vital ID!

Kathleen was able to choose the one she liked, so she was very happy when it arrived. :-)

This weekend we were fortunate to find trees on sale at 75 % off! Needless to say we were busy planting on Sunday. :-) It was a really nice day to spend outside.

We had an awesome little helper!

These are just a few of many we purchased and they are well established trees. This is the side that is facing our neighbor's yard.

Here we started replacing some we had lost from the drought this year. As you can see Kathleen is over there exploring. :-)

We still have some smaller ones and two lilacs to get planted. It helps to add some privacy and provide shelter and homes for our bird and animal friends. Since we can't live in the country right now.

Today we were at a play date most of the morning. Before we left, I made a new learning game for Kathleen. It's made from a large egg carton, and I decorated the top. Inside are the letters of the alphabet. I have placed a button inside and then she shakes the carton; wherever the button lands when she opens it, is the letter sound she tells me, and we create words. If there's two in one we review them both. It's also great for letter recognition if your child is still learning the letters. She really has fun with it, and that makes a big difference in learning. Keeping them interested and excited about learning and giving lots of positive reinforcements. :-)

Simple, easy, educational and fun!! :-)

Have a great day!

Sooo many things I want to say, tehe. First, what a great idea! She gets to have fun and learn. What a great mommy :). We did something like that with chalk and rocks. They would throw the rocks onto a drawn out square with all the letter and what ever letter it landed on they would shout out the sound and words that began with that sound. Second, I LOVE 75 percent off sales, woohoo. And such pretty trees. Third, I LOVE the way your fence is scalloped. And your grass is still so pretty and green. And forth, what a great giveaway! It is even pretty! The people that took the girls school pictures gave out ID cards with the child's picture and places to fill out information. So important. I am going to hop on over for a look see at her blog. The name alone is getting my attention. And last, that is a great idea to do after Extreme Makeover. That show always makes me cry and feel so humble. We are going to start doing the same thing. Blessings to you and your family

What a fun game idea! My hubby would be drooling over a 75% off tree sale. He would have bought all they had. Planting trees is so fun, I love getting all dirty and then of course watching them grow is the best.

This is a cool game that would work with Justin. We just started learning the letters (a little late but grandparents didn't want me teaching him, wanted preschool...didn't work out so now we have to scramble a little bit, no biggie...he'll get it).
We painted today so we can cut out feathers from the painted paper and glue to footprints for turkeys. Learned and remembered red and blue today. Letter A and numbers 1-5.
Take care Jill. Got a post or two more to read, think you're getting ahead of me. :o)
God Bless!!!

75% off? You go, girl! That's a great deal!

The game looks like lots of fun. I know my little one would love to play with it. He is just learning his letter and how they make words. It's so fun to watch them learn. He is so excited about learning.
