Friday's Father Daughter Dance

Every year since Hayley has started in Scouts they have a Father Daughter dance around Valentine's day. I can't believe how much she has grown and changed each year that goes by. My little girl..... and her daddy.

Getting ready....

Kathleen of course had to join in the fun! ;-)

Each year he gets her a fresh flower corsage.

We took this shot in the mirror...I thought it looked neat in black and white....

Off for a great night of fun!

Each year we make a large food donation for local charities. They also made Valentine's cards for the residents at the nursing home.

Daddy's little girl is growing up.....

Kathleen was crying and so upset as she wanted to go with them so bad. But her time will come when she begins Daisy Scouts after she enters Kindergarten. So I still have time to watch another one go through it with her Daddy.

My weekend is jam packed as usual. Going to try to carve out some time for leisure reading as well as required reading for school. I'm finishing up the Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini. Pretty powerful book, but graphic images at times. Makes me even more thankful for all I've been blessed with.
Next I'll be reading Wuthering Heights. A classic, I have not yet read... not sure how that happened! LOL
Hope you are all enjoying your weekends and getting some time together with your families.
Blessings,
Jill

How sweet!!!

I haven't read The Kite Runner yet, or Wuthering Heights! My to-read pile is woefully long.

Hayley looks really pretty...I think she's starting to look older, just since I've been following you! I love the picture of her and her dad looking at each other...actually got a lump in my throat...You can see/feel the love between them.

Oh, goodness, your daughter is growing up and looks like a princess with her tiara... OH, so sweet to have father-daughter time...and I know that Kathleen will be so happy when she can attend events like this too. Daddies are so important in a young girl's life. So are mommies :) :) Your photos really show how much fun was had by everyone :) :)

Wuthering Heights? I haven't read that...although my mom has and seen the movie ;) :) It's supposed to be really good :) :) Have a good week, Jill. Will your family be doing any fun Super Bowl activities? Love and hugs from Oregon, Heather :)

Haley looked so pretty! I am sorry that K was so upset. It is hard to feel left out. Poor thing!

The house picture in my header is not my home. It is a picture my great-grandmothers home. My dream is to one day have an old farmhouse like that.

Hi Jill...what wonderful pictures of Dad and Daughter....loved the big girl coursage...and "little red" cracks me up...you can see how she looks up to Haley...they are adorable...and how funny you said you are going to read Wuthering Heights...I was watching something on t.v. yesterday and I heard the person say that they read that book every single Christmas...and to think I have never read it once....I guess it's time...and then we can compare what we thought of it...but I'm a very slow reader so ask me about it next year...LOL.
have a great week! Sue.

How sweet. Our Brownies do it too, I am hoping my daughter gets to go this year too. Love that she wore a crown, my Zoe wore her crown to the dance last year. Aren't they so funny?

Hayley is gorgeous and Kathleen is such a cutie. You can just see the love in Jerry's face for Hayley. I remember my father/daughter dance--I had an older sister so she got to go with my dad--I had to go with the school principal--don't know why but he was nice enough to accept my invitation. Love the picture of you and Hayley. I hope y'all are staying safe and warm up there. Take care.

Hi Jill...I've watched a movie called the kite runner which was just incredible! But I've never read the book. Is it about a little boy with a kite set somewhere in the middle east?

By the way, that photo of Haley looking in the mirror at herself is just so sweet! And such a great idea for a photo!

OH! I love these! You are the 4th person who's mentioned a father/daughter dance. I SO wish we had something like this. I know BSD would be so excited to take the ballerinas.

Haley looks beautiful, and oh so happy! What a precious memory.

Oh Jill, that is so sweet! How lovley for your girls to learn how to be treated by a man, and who better to role model that than thier loving father. They look like they were very excited and must have had a lovely night together.
