Hope you are all enjoying Valentine's day with your loved ones :-) A day to be celebrated every day of the year!
My girls and Jerry gave me beautiful cards this morning with some candy, but they also picked out some vintage pieces for me they found. For me the older the better :-) They know me quite well!
Miniature oil lamp
And beautiful mini roses :-)
We don't get the girls any sweets but we did get them each a Webkinz so they can enjoy another year of games.
After breakfast I had the girls draw the winner for our Disney items giveaway...... this is one of their favorite parts when I have these giveaways. :-)
Overlook the empty mantel as it is going through transition for new decor! ;-)
And the winner is.....
Kris from Simplify!! :-) Thanks for entering and I will get your information to get it sent out to you soon!
It was a long, busy day and I volunteered to help at Kathleen's school with the Valentine's party.
I made Bingo cards and a heart game to take. They also got to guess how many candy kisses in a jar, they each won a prize for guessing :-)
The heart game was really simple, but the kids had so much fun playing it. We were also very pressed for time so I couldn't plan anything too elaborate.
You have a child sit in a chair facing away from the other children. You then place the heart under the chair and select a child to take it and hide it by their seat on the floor. Then all the kids say "Can you guess who was so kind, to bring you a pretty Valentine?"
Then the person sitting in the chair guesses who took it and then you repeat the game until everyone has had a turn. The same concept as "doggy doggy where is your bone?"
This is fun to play as a family also :-)
Of course there were lots of goodies to eat!;-)
My girls enjoy these days because we don't keep this kind of food on hand at our house unless they have a party or company comes :-) Kathleen loaded her plate, then ended up throwing most of it away!
When we got home she was very excited about all Valentine's in her box.
She then told me she was making a special Valentine lunch and that she did!
Even more excitement when she found the rainbow over our stove....love these moments...seen through the eyes of a child...
And of course being Valentine's day we had to do a special craft!
Sparkly hearts, glue in a cup with a q-tip for spreading, creative design, then onto acrylic paints for a masterpiece!
Can't wait till Hayley has a chance to finish hers, then both will get very special places on our walls. :-)
Have a great night!
