Starting a big backyard project!

Hope you all had a wonderful Easter and Spring break!! The girls are home for one more day today, then it's back to school tomorrow! We have been so busy the whole time that the days have truly just flown by.
A couple posts ago I wrote about how we took down our deck and the result was the back of the house looking pretty blah! With just a ramp for the dog to run up and down to get in the back door.

Leaving us quite a big project to start undertaking!
Our neighbor and good friend, also a landscaper :-) Brought down his tractor to help us out.

We then had the new project of taking down our fence to get the tractor through. We had actually been wanting to move the fence back a little bit because we hardly have any room in our driveway.

So this started a major undertaking in the rest of the yard. We also had to set up a small kennel area to keep the dogs in while we are working on the yard and patio.

Owen did keep careful watch over us through the kitchen window! LOL

We did enjoy the beautiful moon one evening as dusk fell upon us....

The girls jumped into Jerry's 62 Ford Galaxie to take a little drive down the driveway to park his car safely out of the way :-)

We have quite a bit to do to get our yard back in order!

We have to build up the yard to lay the patio and be able to put steps in that aren't too steep of a drop.

Hayley was a huge help the last few days, we're so proud of her!!

The fun part is keeping the dogs out of everything :-)

This was my view from my kitchen window as I was cooking and doing dishes :-)

There's my girl....taking after her daddy...a very hard worker!!

Kathleen was inside with Nana playing the headband game, lol Having a blast!!

The dogs weren't overly happy in their smaller space, they wanted to be out running around with us.

Treats, treats, treats!!! Mommy has treats!!! :-)

Pavers are delivered!!!

Good progress, but lots more hard work to come!! I will be posting updates as we had to order more pavers and plan to do more work this week and weekend :-)

Whew, lots of pictures! I will post about Easter tomorrow :-)

I do have some exciting news!! I finally convinced my mom to start a blog and record her life. She will be sharing some lovely pictures, recipes, thoughts, crafts, entertaining and more! Please stop by and say hi as she begins this wonderful journey in blogging. :-)

You can find her blog called Taking the Time by clicking here.

Thanks for stopping by today!! Have a lovely afternoon!!

blessings,
Jill

WOW!! Y'all sure have been busy. Love the looks of the pavers. You can tell by the look on Jerry's face that he loves that car. My dad had a 60 something Ford that was gold--loved riding in it. I'm looking forward to seeing the backyard progress. Have a great week. Take care.

Good evening Jill,
Back home and wishing for the activities that we had at your home over the Easter holiday visit. Can't wait to see the results of all the hard work on the patio and yard the next time we come up.
Hope you all got some time to rest.
Have a good night.

What a brave undertaking but it looks like it's going to be great once you get it finished! (You have excellent helpers!) I'm off to check out your mom's blog!!
