Easter vacation memories

We have been at my parent's house since Tuesday evening and what a whirlwind it has been! We have been blessed to visit with friends and family. Lots of pictures to share tonight and hopefully some time to catch up on visiting other blogs this evening. Hope you all are enjoying time with family and friends and having a lovely Easter!

Traveling 3 hours with 4 dogs, 2 children and the two of us is always a packed adventure and we try to get the girls to pack lightly. Well somehow Hayley managed to pack 14 American girls into her suitcase so they could celebrate Easter here with us, lol.

This along with quite a few other bags for clothes, bath items, etc. Kathleen did stick to the 1 stuffed animal and doll "rule" and she is 7!

The girl's love staying at Nana and PopPop's house and when I had Hayley my mom painted a lovely mural on the wall in the room that was to be for the grandchildren.

My mom has always been an amazing artist and I'm glad my girl's are loving art as well. She made this sign originally for Hayley as the first grandchild then as Kathleen and Neve were born added the butterflies. :-)

Speaking of crafts they always talk Nana into letting them create new things while they are here....this time it was clay creations baked to set in the oven.

Here's a closer look at an old Mexican stove Hayley made for Josephina.

They were so happy when they found out their cousin Neve was able to come down and spend the night and dye Easter eggs with them.

Some evidence of their hard work :-)

Jerry and Patches were relaxing for a bit on the couch :-)

Owen was hanging out with the girls and Bella and Skippy were relaxing on a couch to themselves. :-)

Skippy :-)
Bella :-)

Table was set for a nice breakfast we wanted to celebrate my parent's neighbor Charle's 70th birthday! Him and his wife Inez are very dear friends of our family and we consider them family as well.

Neve and Kathleen were still hanging out in the chair trying to fully wake up from their sleepover.

We had some of the eggs out that they had dyed on the table to enjoy as well.

Centerpiece for the table.

Was so great to see Charle's smile as we brought out his birthday cake!

The girls picked some pretty flowers to float in a bowl for another decoration for the table.

Then they were also exchanging Easter baskets with one another....

When their cousin Amy arrived with her boyfriend Phil they were lined up for the start of the egg hunt!

Get set and ready to go......

5 acres and just about 200 eggs to find!!!

I just happened to catch pieces of this take down unfolding.... Amy was running for an egg the same time as her boyfriend Phil and he knocked her to the ground to get the egg! As Hayley ran right on past....

Accidentally of course! Or did Amy fall on her own and the above sounds more exciting????

Notice he leaves her laying on the ground as he gets the egg......
Then he decides to help her up.... lol

As I was walking and taking pictures I noticed these seed pockets for the trumpet (hummingbird vine) and had to snap a quick picture. :-)

Caught Jerry and Hayley counting some eggs to be sure everyone was getting the right amount :-)

I also thought these plants were so neat, my dad said they are plants from colonial times but no one knows the name of them. If you know please share!! Thanks so much :-)

Everyone was happy to finally be able to look at what's in their eggs!

My cousin Angela gave them each a piggy bank and they pulled a long trail of $$ out! What an awesome idea and great gift!

Uncle Brent thought it would be funny to do confetti eggs.... this one was smashed on Nana by Kathleen! LOL

The night before we were sure to leave treats for the Easter bunny....

Kathleen's goodies....

Hayley's basket.....

Evidence the Easter Bunny came!!......

The Easter bunny also hid eggs around the house and Kathleen and Hayley had a great time finding them at Nana's this year!

What's in the baskets??? :-)

When Neve came back today they played so well together and we even did pin the tail on the bunny!

Then we had a surprise visit from our friend Chip and his daughter Ashley....miss her so much she is growing up too fast!

Ashley couldn't believe that at age 11 Hayley was taller than her and she is almost 17!

We had a whirlwind week and will be heading back home tomorrow. Jerry took a few days off and tomorrow will be in memory of his brother Patrick we lost 2 years ago on April 1st. We had a memorial on Saturday evening with family and friends and we miss him so very much. Hug your loved ones tight and enjoy every day!! For each day we wake up is a blessing. Have a wonderful week ahead!!

As always, photos of your girls are such a joy to see. Hayley is sure growing up, isn't she? Don't you wish you could stop the clock a tiny bit?

I have wonderful memories of Easter egg hunts with my kids. Sadly, those days are long gone, but one day, Lord willing, I'll enjoy those things with grandchildren.

The mural on the wall is beautiful! That would be a delightful room to sleep in.

Thanks for sharing your Easter joy with us!

Blessings and hugs,

Jill, it sounds (and looks) like you had a great time with your family. Hayley is SO tall!! I can't believe how much she's grown. Your girls are so pretty (and that's quite a AG stash, I know my little girl would be in 7th heaven at your house!)

What a Nana!! It was fun looking at all these happy girls having such a lovely Easter. Traveling with four dogs must be really interesting.

The mural for the girls room is amazing. I would love staying in that pleasant room myself.
