It's Christmas Eve!!! I decided to take time today to catch up from the month. Most of these things occurred before the accident happened. We are enjoying our quiet Christmas at home, just the 4 of us this year and allow for some healing. Our town did a special clock lighting in town a couple weeks ago at the end of November. Santa came and Mrs. Claus! We were able to take a sleigh ride, drink hot cocoa and more! It was a lovely evening.
Kathleen was tickled pink to see Mrs. Claus there too. :-)
We even got to enjoy Mrs. Claus reading Christmas stories in the small town bookstore!
Our Elf Bobalina has been arriving with new shenanigans each night! An Elfie selfie! LOL
We made some cookies and shared with the teachers and kids at school as well as our neighbors.
Tree has some presents that have arrived in the mail from our friends and family back home. Going to open them tomorrow!
Bobalina loves the Rainbow Loom too!
Elvis, our supervisor as we cook and decorate, lol!
Ok....these are one of my favorites....
Clock tower in our town.....
Shopping early in the month and seeing Santa!
Of course there has to be an advent calendar with chocolate.... ;-)
Years ago, Jerry worked on a farm and every year they made beautiful boxwood wreaths to sell. He always made one for our door. This year he made them from our trees in our yard and still does a beautiful job!
This little Elf shows up in unexpected places!
First thing in morning shot of Kathleen when she found Bobalina "fishing" at the table!
When we were shopping she used her birthday money to buy this adorable big eyes penguin.
They both "had" to fit into the cars....little Ninja turtle in the background is looking at her like what in the world!?! LOL
Hayley and her friend and Jerry and Kathleen having fun at Home Depot!
Wrapping presents for her sister :-)
Prepping for her Christmas party at school, hair in rollers and nails painted!
Cooper loved Bobalina too!
Love these pictures I snap at night time... Owen, her "protector" always by her side. After the accident I must have checked her and Hayley over a dozen times at night.
Caught her reading to Bobalina one morning :-)
Even Elvis curled up with her to listen to her read!
Enjoyed an afternoon volunteering at her school to help the kids make gingerbread houses.
If you look closely at the bottom right of photo you can see pansies surviving despite the cold.
One of the beautiful arrangements Kathleen received.
A live nativity we went to see in town, so beautiful.... lovely night and sense of community.
Been doing lots of fresh juices each day, so delicious and healthy and the girls are loving it! This was 1/2 pineapple and 4 carrots, delicious!
More morning hair! She loved helping to make the juices. Nothing like fresh apple juice!
Another lovely arrangement we received for the holidays.
Lucky I saw the Elf before Cooper did....once he found the marshmallows it was all over! LOL
"Christmas is the spirit of giving without a thought of getting. It is happiness because we see joy in people. It is forgetting self and finding time for others. It is discarding the meaningless and stressing true values" Thomas Monson
"Our hearts grow tender with childhood memories and love of kindred, and we are better throughout the year for having, in spirit, become a child again at Christmas" Laura Ingalls Wilder
John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life
My wish to each and every one of you is to have a wonderful Christmas with your loved ones. To count your blessings and to cherish your relationships throughout the years. Love and thankfulness for what we have should never end as we can never take it for granted. I am so blessed this year to be here still with my family after the accident, knowing it could have been much worse. God has certainly given our family lots of challenges and we don't always understand the whys of it all...but we keep the faith that if he brings us to it...he will bring us through it. Will certainly be missing our family and friends back at "home". But cherishing the memories the 4 of us will be making as a family in our new home.
Many Blessings and Merry Christmas!
