Playhouse construction complete!

I have so many posts I want to share, so I'm going back a little to start with things that happened first and working my way towards the most recent. We have had a few visitors and Hayley's best friend is here until next Thursday or Friday. So I was enjoying the time catching up with everyone we don't get to see from back "home". Also had a mini vacation of day trips.

When we found out last year that we were going to relocate, Kathleen said her one request was a nice yard and for Jerry (Daddy) to build her a playhouse. This summer it finally happened even though due to the accident and other setbacks it was a little delayed. But Jerry is not a father who would let his girls down. :-)

This is the play area when we moved here.

It was pretty shaky and not very safe, the ladder rungs began to break and not a good sign of what was to come if not repaired or replaced soon.

Demolition didn't take long, lol.

We are all about getting the girls involved to help with projects. Kathleen said she knew her overalls she just picked out at the store were perfect for the job!

Now... let's build a "real" playhouse! ;-)

Hayley is always a big help with the construction projects. Encourage independence and let your children try everything, they will thank you for it later in life :-) There's nothing like that sense of accomplishment!

It always makes me nervous seeing Jerry climb everywhere when working.... afraid he will fall.... I tell him nicely, your not 20 anymore :-)

Kathleen wrote what boards were to go where....

Jerry put in so many hours after work and on weekends making this just right, strong and secure.

Hayley helping to hold walls and ceiling up while getting everything framed in.

We had a lot of rain during this process! Delayed working on it quite a bit.

Yes, my girl can rock using the power tools!

And grabbing my phone to take a few selfies :-)

And finally all finished on the outside! Fresh paint, deck, window boxes, windows and even a skylight! :-)

Great job Jerry and girls.... will be a treasure for years to come!

Inside he put up dry erase walls and Kathleen has visitors sign it. Also likes to teach her dolls in there.

She has a pretty awesome view from inside as well. Still have some decorating and "spiffing" up to do, but she is sure happy to have it done!

                                                               Have an amazing day!

                                                                        Blessings,
                                                                              Jill
