Visiting the Akron Zoo

We had really mild temperatures on Saturday with lots of sunshine and decided it would be the perfect day to visit the zoo! I took so many pictures, but tried to narrow down some of my favorites for this post :-) Hayley had a cyst pop up on her face and was all swollen so she didn't want to be in the pictures, but she was there enjoying the day with us. :-)

Found these adorable penguins on our way in ;-)

Kathleen made sure she coordinated her outfit for the trip to the zoo.

I have always loved observing jellyfish, I could watch them all day! :-)

This octopus was pretty amazing too. I just love animals and nature so much. Love that my girls get excited about it too.

This little eel was so funny swimming around and hiding upside down looking at us.

We also paid extra and luckily were in line on time and the girls got to feed the penguins!

They had free hot cocoa for everyone throughout the day and with a meal you could add a bucket of popcorn for a $1.00. Wasn't crazy about the food choices, but did manage to get fruit. I saw a lot of other people bringing their own food so I think we will do the same next time.

Since it's the winter time they reduce the admission prices, which is nice. Also it wasn't very crowded.

This little red panda kept going in circles so fast it was hard to get a good picture of him, lol.

I absolutely LOVE goats, we spent some time feeding them and hanging out in that area.

Coyotes, they were restless too but luckily we were able to get this picture. We have a lot of them around our yard.

These were wings you could actually move up and down. Not as easily as you think it would be either ;-)

Watching the lemurs was so much fun! They are very entertaining! See this little guy peeking out at me between the branches? :-)

Even warm enough they brought the flamingos out so that was a treat!

It's a small zoo and was sad to see how little room the animals had.... but overall it was a great family day.

We live about 20 minutes from the Akron Zoo. We enjoy visiting in the morning during summer, it is the perfect size for a few hours out before the sun gets too hot in the afternoon. I love the Cleveland zoo, Columbus is my favorite in Ohio, but Akron is the best for the littles for a fun day out. Great place. :) Glad you enjoyed your visit!
