Visiting Carowinds on a VERY Hot Day!

Well last year it was season passes to Cedar Point in Ohio while we lived there and this year it is Carowinds :-) So of course when someone visits we have to take them to get the full experience of being in 2 states at once ;-) North Carolina and South Carolina :-)

Hayley and her bestie Breanne even wanted to dress like twins. Notice the shirts are from The Breakfast Club? One of my all time favorite movies from the 80's!!! So how in the world are the teenagers today bringing back it's popularity?? Quite simple really, the 80's totally rocked and were the most cool era ever! (Did I mention I grew up in the 80's! ;-)

Had to see Charlie Brown and the rest of the Peanuts gang while we were there. Have no idea who the cute little photo bomber in the back is, lol. :-)

Here they are, right on the line of 2 states!!

We arrived super early to take advantage of getting to ride before the park officially opens with our gold season passes. However we went on one of the hottest days of the year when they were warning people about the air quality and dangers of the heat! Temperatures were in the 100's! Crazy we are as I am not a fan of extreme heat. Jerry and I took a selfie of our hot, red, sweaty selves as we waiting for the girls to go on rides. One plus is there were no lines at all. They got right on and right off. Jerry tried riding a few, but after riding nighthawk he got sick and was done! LOL. He doesn't do well with circles and going backwards! Kathleen is all into riding coasters this year... bless her heart still makes me nervous she's so little.... *sigh* She rode Nighthawk and loved it.

Fury 325 they got on 4 times in a row! Jerry snapped this picture of them acting all cool and unaffected by the ride, lol.

One day I have no doubt Kathleen will be in many productions of shows herself!

Even though it was very hot we had a great time. There were hardly any people and no lines at all. The "smart" people were home in their air conditioning, lol!! But we saw a couple shows indoors in the air conditioning and had a few nice meals. The park also provided free cups of water for everyone around the park which was really nice. Hopefully the next day we choose to go will be cooler :-)

What fun things are you doing this summer? Braving any amusement parks? What are your favorites?

                                                                           Blessings,
                                                                                Jill

It's very hot here in Texas so if the kids want to go to Six Flags or any other amusement park, their parents will have to take them! Looks like you had a great time. Love roller coasters.
