Surprises, around the yard and catching up

I received a few surprises in the mail from my friends over the past week and it truly brightened my day :-) My best friend Teresa, friends since we were 3 years old sent me this Little Box of Sunshine and themed it with yellow items :-)

Another one of my best friends named Tina from chilhood also sent me this great basket of get well pampering cheer :-)

These carnations are all that are left from the beautiful arrangement my sister had sent me, so I transferred them to another container to keep them as long as I can.

These are what's left of the arrangement my parents sent out to me. Both arrangements were so pretty!

I also received lunch and a adult coloring book with gel pens from my best friend Dawn. Then I was very blessed to have my friend Lynn help out with our girls, staying with them, cooking meals and taking them to activities while Jerry and I were at the hospital. Dear friends of ours, the Tye family also sent me a big box of assorted teas that I have been enjoying :-)

I received so many texts, emails and calls from so many people it truly made my heart full! Thank you again to everyone who kept me in prayer :-)

This little guy is one of the male ducks that follows our female duck around and sadly he recently lost his eye sight. They call out to each other to keep him with them. Right now he is sitting outside where the female duck has started laying eggs. She has started laying in the bushes near the road, we set up a duck house for them but they haven't used it yet. The ducks came with our house we bought last year and we have fallen in love with them :-)

These are both the males staying near the female. :-)

Can you see her nestled in there ;-)

We have been enjoying some really beautiful weather and since I am taking walks to help me heal faster, I have been taking some pictures in our yard as I go along...

                                            Our dogwoods are blooming beautifully!

                                                                           Azaleas too!

Still so happy how well my tulips are doing! They just make me happy when I walk out and see them :-)

                                                                    My oldest Hayley....

                                                               My youngest Kathleen....

My rhododendron bush is beginning to bud, can't wait till it blooms but I wish the flowers would last longer than they do, they are so pretty.

Hydrangeas are coming up really well and I can't wait for them to bloom, they are my favorite along with lilacs!

Kathleen by the flowers we put in an old wheelbarrow I bought from an antique store.

She is a great helper watering the flowers for me as I heal from the surgery. My lifting is restricted for a bit. Here she had the idea to conserve some of the water, as the plant took what it needed, she held the watering can underneath to catch the remainder of the water coming out.

One big leaf lol! That is our giant magnolia tree behind her... can't wait until that blooms too!

My view from sitting on my porch swing, enjoying the day....

We got Kathleen a violin from Wish because it's something she wanted to learn to do. We figured this was a good way to practice and if she takes off with it we can get another one in the future,

Our spoiled rotten cat Elvis... lol... picture is a little blurry, but had to capture the moment.

Kathleen has been busy making all kinds of creations with her Rainbow Loom bands.

I love the Easter egg and chick she made me :-)

Our fur babies are enjoying sun bathing... lol

Hayley made this elephant piece for a friend's birthday, it turned out really well!

Whew, long post but wanted to catch up :-) Hope you are all having a wonderful week!!

                                                                             Blessings,
                                                                                   Jill

What a lovely post, Jill. Your outdoor spaces are wonderful. I'm intrigued with your tub of hydrangeas. I guess I never realized they could be grown in containers. Your daughters are lovely. Both obviously very talented. I so enjoyed seeing your flowers and porch. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Nancy

Oh Jill, what a beautiful and precious post! I agree with Wanda, Kathleen just melts my heart. Her smile is just too sweet! How wonderful that she will be learning how to play the violin. I hope we get to hear her sometime.

Great post...love the yellow sunshine box...that's a great idea for a theme box surprise. All your flowers are beautiful and I love your home and lots of space to live. I had some ducks years ago...I think we had all females so there were lots of eggs to eat. That sure is a nice violin. Was it expensive? My friend told me her granddaughter got one for 3k...goodness, my violin was $75 in 1959 and we thought was a lot. Wonder what it is worth now?? Hope you are feeling better, walks and flowers are very healing.

So glad that you have been spoiled by family and friends while you recuperate, Jill! I enjoyed taking the walk around your beautiful yard and seeing all of your pretty blooms. The little ducks are so sweet and hopefully you will have some new ducklings this year. Your darling daughters are so talented and artistic! Cute shot of the fur-babies catching the rays and the bundled up kitty. A very sweet family :) xo Karen
