Walking, Reading, Baking and more

Happy Saturday! :-)

Each week my dad has been coming over and we walk together around my yard for 1/2 hour. This past week was just gorgeous with temperatures near 70 and a light breeze. Perfect for walking and reflection. These pictures are all with my Iphone but if you look carefully you can see the geese that came to visit our pond. :-)

The ducks saw us coming and had to swim up to us as well. :-) They always have a lot to say.

Skippy was out on his walk with Hayley after she came home from school. He has a hot spot he's been scratching under his neck of all places, so he's been on lots of medicine to get cleared up and a steroid cream. He also managed to sneak a dip into our pond which doesn't help as far as the irritation on his neck, but he's always loved the water.

I took some time to sit down and catch my breathe and read for a little while since it was so nice outside after my walk one day. Awhile ago Jerry had added this swing on for me next to the girls swings so I could overlook the pond while I was outside. By the way so far this book is really good! I've read a few of her books and they are all great! Overlook my red face, lol I was pretty overheated when we got done.

Hayley found these two pins for me at a thrift shop she volunteers at. They are to raise awareness for heart disease.

Kathleen made some chocolate chip pancake muffins from one of her favorite cookbooks. She really likes Rosanna Pansino. If you enjoy baking or have little ones at home , you may want to check this book out. Lots of great recipes and on the healthier side. One is a valentine one that is dairy free! :-)

These were so yummy and all made from scratch, so even better. But she was able to adjust so there was very little sodium in them for me.

We are also doing a school book club together as a family and each night we read from this book. No Summit Out of Sight by Jordan Romero. Wonderful read and also a true story, definitely recommend it. I'll read a chapter then she reads one each night. Elvis always sits with her to keep her company, lol.

Here's another picture of our little Skippy getting some extra love and attention while his neck heals up. He's 15 years old this year! Still full of a ton of energy!!

Kathleen thought it would be cute to dress up one of Jerry's camouflage hats with a bow, lol. Such is the life of a dad with daughters! ;-)

I've been getting back into working on my business; each day I try to ease back into an activity and then just rest as needed. I love these products so much and they are a great way to relax after a long day. So many great naturally based ingredients and the finest butters such as shea. If you'd like to visit my webpage it lists all the ingredients, etc. You can click this link

What are you all up to this weekend?

                                                                           Blessings,
                                                                                Jill

Hi Jill~

What gorgeous photos!! I'm so glad you are feeling good...and looking wonderful! I have to say, I'm a little jealous of your beautiful weather, I can hardly wait until we are in the 70's!

Just loved the bow on the hat, and the muffins looked so delicious! How thoughtful of Kathleen to adjust them for you, she is a sweetheart.

Stay well! XOXO

Hugs and Love,
Barb

That's so nice your dad is coming over to walk with you. Your property is so lovely to walk around-- Even a nice place to stop and read. You are looking well, Jill. That's so nice that Kathleen enjoys baking healthy goods. It's so cute that your husband plays along with his girls. I hope you are staying warm and cozy in your lovely home. ♥

Ducks ALWAYS have a lot to say. I don't know why.

It was wonderful to read that your Dad came over to walk with you. The bow on the hat made me smile, my husband was the same as we have three daughters although they are all grown up now. Most recipes can be adjusted to make them a little healthier, it is a little overwhelming to start but comes very easy after a while. Stay strong.

Your property is so lovely and a perfect place to walk. My friend Happyone (aka Karen) at Life is Good walks daily for six miles. On bad weather days, she walks in her basement.to get her miles in. For this, she is able to eat pretty much what she wants. Anyway, I commend you for taking good care of your health.

Whoa...when did Kathleen grow up? She is not the little girl I last saw here. Yay for her baking skills!

Hope to see your post on the vintage cookbooks. They certainly are interesting and highly amusing. Ida did teach me one thing I use often, but I’ll save that info for a future post.

💌Happy Valentine’s Day!

Chocolate chip pancake muffins! Kathleen is always making such wonderful goodies. I can really relate, cause I love to bake as well. That's so cute that she put a red bow on the camouflaged hat. And how thoughtful of Hayley to give you the pins from the thrift shop. That's a cute picture of you, Jill, and it's nice that you are able to spend some time in the yard and with nature. I hope you are feeling better.

Happy Valentine's Day to you,

~Sheri

Kathleen makes such tasty treats and her chocolate chip muffins look divine! Wish I had one to go with my morning coffee.
